New Corona infection numbers in Austria have increased for two weeks. According to AGES, 4,428 new Corona cases were recorded on Tuesday.
This is above the average for the past seven days, with 4,308 new Corona cases added daily. The seven-day incidence rose to 334 cases per 100,000 population. There are currently 42,170 laboratory-confirmed active Corona cases in Austria, up 1,613 from the previous day.
5,554,975 confirmed Corona cases since the start of the pandemic
There have already been 5,554,975 confirmed cases in Austria since the pandemic began. In the past seven days, 30 deaths have been recorded. The Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 21,202 lives in Austria since the outbreak. Per 100,000 population, 234.8 infected persons have already died.
944 Corona infected in hospital
In the hospital, as of Tuesday morning, 944 infected were reported. Within a week, there was an increase of 29 Corona-infected people. Sixty-six people are being cared for in intensive care units. This number has decreased by five since yesterday and has reduced by four patients within a week.
181,352 Corona tests were reported on Monday.
A total of 181,352 PCR and corona antigen rapid tests were reported on Monday. Of these, 162,229 were meaningful PCR tests, and the positive rate was 2.7 percent. On average, 84,495 PCR analyses were performed daily last week, of which 5.1 percent were positive.
